Cimarron, KS family sessions.Clovis NM Portrait Photographer

Last weekend I took a 6 hour drive to Cimarron, KS. The home of pheasant hunting-which I learned while I was there that weekend. Supposedly Bobby Knight was there hunting, too.As I drove in to the cute town of Cimarron I was greeted by the full and upbeat downtown area. The town consists of about 2,000 people, which reminded me of the town I grew up in when I was younger. I immediately feel in love with it. My adventures started in the cute town when I met up with one of my clients/friend-Aundi.  (You will get to see her adorable family towards the end of this post) The place to "meet" is at Clarks Drug store. I was so excited to see the 50 style diner set up, and then a drug store in the back with an retail store on the side. All of these three businesses wrapped up into one just screams small town, and I LOVE that. Looking at all of this refreshes my memory from my days as a little girl in Tahoka, Tx. Fond fond memories :) So, before I make you go down memory lane with me, I'll stop there. The first family from the  [mini-sessions]  is the Burns girls. So sweet, energetic and full of surprises. The mom started whispering sweet-nothing into the camera and I wasn't sure if she was talking to me, or what! It was hilarious, because mind you, this is the first time I met this family. Shannan-I so enjoyed you and your girls.

The Fugitt kids are absolutely adorable!!  This was like one of the first ones we took.  Perfect little children :)  I'm sure mom agrees.

The Littlejohn family too was adorable.  Momma has fashion flowing through her husband and kids.  I love their style!

The Batman family.  First off, I just want to say, what a cool last name!  Ben thought so too.  This little boy was full of energy and so incredibly sweet to his momma.  I loved this image, because it shows their playful side and makes me think of my little man.

Okay, let me just say how much I love this girls name.  Are you ready for it...Winter Kopper.  I LOVE her name!  And I love the locations we went to.  We did a full session for them, and went to their families old house; old as in like a house that is almost 100 years old I think (I might have made that up haha), and then we went to a friends barn that had this amazing hayloft.  I told Ben soon after their session that I want a hayloft.  Like, I really really do.  So, he is just gonna whip one up for me. Oh, and this cool hayloft has a swing and Winter showed us how it worked in her skirt. I love her carefree personality.

Here is the family that actually got me to Cimarron, KS.  The Curtis family.  I'm hoping Pottery Barn for kids will call me soon after seeing this image below.  And then, they will call the family to see if they can use their kids as models, because they are SO cute!

They are a dairy family, so we went to the cow alley(technical terms) for part of there session.  The cows were a little too busy eating and wouldn't smile.  Oh well.  The family on the other hand looks cute.

Before the weekend was over I also had the great opportunity to photograph the Monical family.  I loved meeting them and their cutie-pie daughter.  And, I love the mommas boots!

For the Love Workshop.Oregon

Last week I went to a workshop called For the Love. This workshop was a photography workshop where you could come and learn more knowledge and better your skills as a photographer, but most importantly it was a retreat to focus on God and fire up the burner in my Christian walk. This season in my life is busy, and trying to balance work and family has been difficult for me. So, last week I headed up to Oregon and got with God one on one and I feel full again. The group that came to the workshop will now be some dear friends. We cried together, laughed, talked photography and shared two passions in our life-God and photography.It blesses my heart to have met these people. Our instructors Mike Larson and his wife Rachel and Zach and Jody Gray were phenomenal. Their hearts for God is contagious and their photography work is inspiring as well as how they run their successful businesses. Thanks to Ginny Corbett for listening to God and not letting anyone get in the way of putting this workshop on. Ginny has a heart for teaching and she is blessed with those  wonderful skills. She ran the workshop smoothly and I know I can speak for everyone who was there when I say we adore and love you Ginny. God gave you one of the coolest personalities. Thanks for making us laugh, and most of all thanks for getting us out of our comfort zone to get real with God.

Also, gotta say, the worship leaders, Johnathan David Helser and his wife Melissa were like no other. (check out some songs on their website)  They sang with raw emotions and you could feel God's presence. It was by far the best worship time I've had in a long time. Thanks for being real and too for getting us out of our comfort zone and getting real with God.

Michael and Megan are getting married in February in Santa Fe and I'm pumped to be joining them.  We did their engagement session in Lubbock, TX and it was so nice, because Megan and I use to be good friends when we were little and life has sent us in opposite directions until now. I'm so glad I get to be apart of this wonderful celebration. I am in love with the lighting on the first one!  Thanks Megan and Michael for an awesome evening.

This year we are offering lots of fun styles for your Christmas cards! Do you  do Christmas cards? Yes! I most definitely do with the help from  fabulous templates I pick out with my clients in mind. What size do you offer? 5x7 flat cardstock (this gives you two sides) and 5x7 vertical folded cardstock (this gives you 4 sides)

What kind of finish is the card? Three options-semi-gloss, recycled paper, and pearl uv coated How much do they cost? 5x7 flat cards start at $60 for a package of 25 cards (2 sideds) 5x7 folded cards start at $100 for a package of 25 cards (4 sides)

Can I customize my cards?

The colors and wording can be changed to customize your family.  The design of the card cannot be changed

9.11 Wedding for Military Couple.Amanda and Cody

This weekend was celebrated by family and friends for Amanda and Cody who are both in the Air Force.  He flew in the day before their wedding and there was no separating them.  It was really cute, because all Amanda could say about Cody was, "he's hot" and all Cody could was "she's hot!" hahaha.  He made her laugh constantly.  It was so cute and so sweet.  Here is the sneak peek. Benson...lately

He did this all on his own. He put his hand up, looked at me, and smiled with the sweetest smile as to say, "look at me mommy, aren't I cute." (not a question, but a statement) And I think he IS SO cute. This was taken on the porch of our airstream at Lonehollow.

New Mexico and Texas Wedding Photographer.Lonehollow Vanderpool, TX.Tara and Trevor

Tara and Trevor invited me and my family to Lonehollow over Labor Day weekend. They were married back in July and we decided to do their engagement session after the wedding. They run a horse camp at Lonehollow and it is amazing to watch them with the horses and as instructors. There is such an art form for what they do and it takes a great deal of patience, with the horses as well as the people. I also photographed them teaching a clinic to eight lovely women, which was SO amazing. I want a horse now, and I want to be a cowgirl. The day was full for them with the clinic starting from morning all the way into the evening, so we did a sunrise session. It was beautiful and peaceful. Oh, also we stayed in an airstream and Benson woke to a rooster at 7:30 a.m. And then we played in the river, and road a horse, and basically had the best time ever. Thank you Tara and Trevor for thinking of us and letting my family come along. You have no idea how much fun that was for us and how perfect it was.
