About me and my mentor auction:

I am a portrait and wedding photographer, but first and foremost I am a wife and a mom and work from home. I would love to mentor someone who is wanting to learn more about how to succeed in a photography business while being a wife and a mom and even though I’m still learning how to do this myself, I can also provide knowledge on how to balance the two-personal life and a business. I graduated from Texas Tech University with a degree in photography. I have had my business for 6 1/2 years and God keeps showing me new things and blessing the business. The mentor session is a 90 minute mentor session over the phone or Skype along with a Q and A via email for 1 month. The topics are yours so think of questions you want to discuss. They can be from where do you get your inspiration, to how do you run a photography business, to who I use for my products.

Experimenting with Confetti

While Liam is sleeping, Benson and I worked a little project. I've been watching a little creative live today and videographer/cinematographer, Hailey Bartholomew was showing great work playing with confetti. I wanted to try it out too. I would love to do a video of Benson and confetti, but for now I want to share the fun confetti photographs we got this afternoon. The Fikse's Navy Blue Lubbock, Texas Family Session

All of the Fikse kids and their families came in for their dad's 60th birthday party to celebrate, and while they were all here, we did one big family session. Navy blue was the main color selection and I love how beautiful it looks on them all. Great color choice Fikse family. Family is a wonderful thing to celebrate...birthdays, babies being born, winning a volleyball game, and singing in the preschool program. These are all great accomplishments, and this family is there to support and love each other in many of these exact situations. They are truly blessed to have one another :)

Lupita and Chis's Clovis, New Mexico Family Session

Thank you to this sweet family for a wonderful session we did back in November. And thank you to Hamilton's Nursery for letting us use your lovely place for the session.A few fun facts about this family...they love starburst, twix, and flaming hot cheetos. Now those are some great picks!

This was the first time they have ever had professional family pictures taken. It blessed my heart to see how much they have enjoyed them. Thank you thank you Lupita for choosing me to photograph your family. I enjoyed every minute of it :)

Ashleigh's Fashionable 2013 High School Senior Session

Ashleigh is a girly girl. She loves to wear a dress and heels, while sipping a cup of coffee. When she was five, she wanted to be a vet, or Britney Spears. Now that she is near graduating, her goals have changed and she wants to be a fashion buyer or a stylist. I think she will be great at either of those, because she has great determination.She is a fun and sassy girl that loves paradise pie from Chili's so if you know her, take her to Chili's and buy her a dessert :) We also grabbed a few with her best friend Madi...check out her high school senior session here.

The Begin's Winter Time Clovis, New Mexico Family Session

This was a family session, but it was also a "welcome home daddy" session. He had been deployed and his arrival date kept getting pushed back. Thankfully he arrived and our scheduled November shoot happened in December. Family sessions are a celebration of families. It's a way to capture all of that love for each other on camera.I am so blessed to have this family as clients of mine, and now friends.

Santa Fe Resort Rancho Encantado Wedding

Back in August Barbara and Ross had their wedding at the beautiful Four Seasons Resort Rancho Encantado in Santa Fe, New Mexico.  It was a beautiful and intimate wedding surrounded by family and close friends.  Barbara is a talented photographer in Midland, Tx, and this girl was awesome to work for.  She had it all together, all organized, all set and ready to go for me.  I LOVED it.  I was in heaven :) The wedding was elegantly decorated in eggplant and neutral tones.  Details of the wedding were spectacular.  The cake had ruffles, and the centerpieces were grand, and each guest left home with lovely succulent plants.

 

The Nixon's Newborn Session

The Nixon's are back! I was blessed to be their wedding photographer back in 2011(view their wedding here), and now they have a beautiful little girl. She was born just before Christmas...the perfect Christmas present for two deserving parents.

The Zarikta's Christmas Camping Clovis, New Mexico Family Session

Julia came to me with the cutest idea and we went with it. Thanks to our our loving community, Kripple Kreek provided her with the lanterns. Friends and family also helped supply some of the items as well as Etsy :) Great job Zarikta family. I love how these turned out.

Leah Burgett is a Lubbock photographer, and I was blessed to photograph her and her family beginning of November. When I pulled up to there beautiful home I was so excited. It oozes country chic living. Leah is a great antique shopper as well as decorator so I had to photograph a few of my favorite pieces of her home too.Take a look!
