Tell Me a Story.Clovis Wedding Photographer

Hello old church. Tell me your story. What was it like for people to gather in your place and sing Gods praise? What was it like to have weddings there many moons ago? What was it like when people wrote on your walls, after you had been sitting there for decades saying, "bless the people who once gathered here". And what was it like to hold peoples joy, sorrow, worries, and happiness as they sat in your pews waiting to give them to the Lord? I look at this building and can't help but think of all the history that took place there. The walls inside and out, the many hands that held the step railing as they entered the white building, and the small stage where the preachers once stood-all tell a story. A story that I can only imagine, and I imagine it being a great one.

2011 H.S Senior.Taylor.Clovis Portrait Photographer

Taylor is a 2011 Senior Rep for Cristy Cross Photography... I loved working with Taylor and her cute little self. She reminds me of a blond Jennifer Love Hewitt. I loved this session because I was able to try out some new locations. The wind in East New Mexico is a little harsh this time of year, but it makes me explore new places. Taylor was a fabulous model and I am so excited with what we got. She is so photogenic, making my job super easy.

Class of 2012, I am now booking sessions May-August.  Contact me to book your session. 575.219.9312  or cristy@cristycross.com

Inspiration #2

I love natural images. What I mean by that is, an image that hasn't been put through several steps of post-processing.  They inspire me. As a photographer in the digital world it always seems we have to touch our images in post-processing, but the beauty of this image to me  is I added a touch of contrast and that's it. I was taught photography using film, and I love the simple beauty of it.  As I mentioned in my first Inspiration post, film inspires me. So, my goal as a photographer is to keep my digital photography simple and beautiful, just like film. Other things that have inspired me lately:

Our son.  When he feels like dancing he doesn't care who is around.  He just goes for it.

cooking-which I honestly haven't done in the pat week.  I think I'm in a funk.

Buying a great dress that gives me confidence, such as this one (with my gift card) What has inspired you lately?shannon-book-taken-by-clovis-portrait-photographer-cristy-cross2

WPPI recap.Clovis Wedding Photographer

WPPI is the annual photographers convention for TONS (somewhere like 15,000) of wedding and portrait photographers. This is one of the conventions I do to get my LEARN-ON and sharpen my skills as a photographer. While I was there a group of the girls I hung out with did a photoshoot. I had so much fun with them and they are now apart of my wonderful collection of friends. Linda Schilberg Meegan Weaver Erica Meyer Casey and Aric -not pictured below, but had lots of fun with these two. Misty Doyle

Our little Valentine.Clovis Portrait Photographer

The weather was warm and the sun was out, so I took advantage of it.Trying to get a three year old dressed is a challenge in its own. I got his pants and socks on and then went outside to get the tree stump. To my surprise when I came back in, he was naked :) I got him dressed a g a i n...and this is what we did.

Kansas Senior.Clovis Portrait Photographer

So, this is my niece. Someone said the other day, "you don't look old enough to have a niece that age." Well, I will be 30 this May, hahaha but it is still hard to believe she is a h.s senior.Nicole came down for Thanksgiving and we've been dreaming of this day for three years. We didn't realize this day would be FREEZING cold outside. Nicole is fabulous in front of the camera and is absolutely beautiful. She made my camera smile.

If you want to set up your senior portrait session with Cristy Cross Photography, please be sure to book in advance! Space is LIMITED for 2011. I am looking forward to meeting you this Spring.
