Ben's Alamogordo High School Senior Shoot.Sneak Peek
/Thanks Ben fro driving all the way from Alamogordo for your senior shoot. You were awesome.
Sydney's Spring High School Senior Shoot
/Most of the time I get annoyed by the wind. I mean, who really needs 30 mph wind anyways? Yesterday, it was one of those days and I had a beautiful senior to photograph. Thankfully the wind was on our side. I mean, look at her hair! It reminds me of Shakira's :)All that volume and curl. No wind could stop us. It might have knocked us over, but we kept going.
Benson's Mini-Session
/Benson told me this morning he had lots of things to do today, and getting his picture taken was one of them.
The West's Lubbock, Texas Family Shoot
/All of the kids came into town with their families to celebrate their mom's birthday. Two of the boys (young men) are chefs and they fixed a feast for the whole family. The little kids were running around, being loud and crazy, doing what boys do. It was a sweet celebration and hearing the kids I'm sure was music to mom/grandma's ears. She is one lucky lady to have ALL her grandkids be grandsons.
The Phillips Spring Family Shoot
/There is nothing like working with great people. Thanks to these three for making a fun and enjoyable shoot.
Yellow and Gray Intimate Clovis, New Mexico Wedding Sneak Peek
/You guys! Let me just say that it touches my heart deeply when a former youth group teen (Ben and I used to help out with our church youth group back in 2007-2008) is getting married and you see her and her soon-to-be-hubby walking with God and basing their relationship on God together as a couple. I was so blessed to witness Emily and Jacob's marriage to each other yesterday. She had the most beautiful smile on her face ALL day long and it was infectious.
Congratulations you two!!
And you might say, it was a little windy yesterday. That veil was flying high as a kite.

Royal Blue Wedding Ideas
/I am inspired by Courtney and Kade's wedding. I am a big fan of royal blue. It has been my favorite color since I was a little girl. Even though I loved the sage green bridesmaids dresses I picked out for my wedding, I think I would go with royal blue if Ben and I were to get married again-to each other of course :)I mean, look at these cute bow ties! And the style of the dresses are so elegant against the flower bouquets. Also, I am from Texas and my dad used to be a cotton farmer so the cotton bolls are a huge hit for me too.
I've turned into a Foodie
/Last week I made a yummy dish from Clean Eating Magazine. It was full of veggies, protein, fiber and straight up goodness. Chicken, Butternut Squash and Sage Pasta
"Whole-wheat pasta, squash and spinach combine to provide an impressive 11 grams of fiber (per serving) of this scrumptious dish. Dietary fiber is a key component to a healthy diet-it helps keep you feeling full and satiated, aids in regulating your blood sugar levels and even works to keep your cholesterol levels in check." -Clean Eating Magazine, January/February 2014
On Super Bowl Sunday I decided we were having "good for us" snacks. I mean why not? Just because it is good for you doesn't mean it has to be gross.
So I went searching after seeing several dishes posted by nomnompaleo.com and I found this one from their website.
Smashed Steak Skewers with Cherry Barbecue Sauce
Then I found another one from Clean Eating Magazine online.
Jalepeno Poppers
They use cornmeal, but I opted for almond meal instead, because the only ones I could find in my local grocery stores weren't clean.
And finally, I made a dish that was favored only by me. And that's okay. I didn't expect it to be liked by all. That just meant more for me,right?
"Devils on Horsback" (not sure how it got it's name)
They are prunes with almond nut cheese. (it calls for macadamia nut cheese, but I didn't have any macadamias) Nut cheese is similar to ricotta :)
These are alsow from nomnompaleo.com, but I could only find them here.
As I watch the snow fall outside my window, I'm thinking I need to make a warm soup to go with this cold weather. The food exploration continues.
