Christmas family sessions are always so fun. Especially when I get to see dear friends from grade school. I loved seeing my friend and her family and seeing them so in love, and so happy. God is good. And this sweet baby is so blessed to have them as parents.
This handsome guy is my nephew, Nathan. He and his family came in for Thanksgiving, and we made an appointment to do his high school senior shoot, even though it might not have been the first thing on his list to do while in town :)Nathan is a humble, hard working guy. Not to mention quite stylish, and I'm excited he is graduating this year!

It might have been 10 degrees yesterday at Palo Duro Canyon, but all was good with Kade and Courtney during their first look.Congratulations you two!

So I think this makes it year six that I've photographed the Tul's family. It truly is a blessing to watch them grow up over these last six years. As they added a new little baby boy to the family this year, their group just keeps getting cuter and cuter. And how Tricia, the momma, has seven boys, and still looks girly and oh-so-cute is beyond me :) We are normally outside in a field or at a barn, or football stadium for their family session, but this year the Underground Embassy was available and it is one of my favorites to photograph in. Thanks to Debbie, the owner for letting us use your lovely place.

Why leave your wedding with just sparklers. I love how Dustin and Emily added a personal touch with the aviators. It's like they are movie stars and I'm the paparazzi.

Growing up, Emily was a bit of a tomboy. She spent lots of time at her grandpas farm in Dalhart, Texas. It is a special place to her, and she wanted to have her bridals taken there. One summer she was there, she gained a friend, a horse named Buddy (chestnut color below) She was there when he was born, and he would lay his head on her lap.She also shared a story of skinning a snake at the farm with her Papa and brother and sister. "Pretty big change from back then to wearing a fancy white lace dress out there...but might explain a little more why the 'tomboy' came out so much that day", says Emily. You would almost think she wasn't wearing a wedding dress, but instead jeans and a t-shirt the way she went around the farm. Her second nature of just being there kicked in and it was like she was 12 years old again.
Emily and Dustin drove from Midland, Texas to Clovis, New Mexico for their engagement shoot. I had a ball with them. They laugh, they love, they hug, they kiss, and they are just goo-goo for each other.They were like that during the engagement shoot and they were like that at their wedding this past weekend.
Congratulations to Emily and Dustin becoming one. I can't express enough what a blessing this couple is to me. Working with them has been beyond wonderful, and I think anyone who knows them would agree when I say, they are the coolest couple. They are complete servants with a compassionate heart and a smile on their faces. I feel all teary eyed just thinking of what a sweet time I had with them and their family from this weekend.

Say hello to one of the coolest families ever and my best friend. This is the first Christmas in their new home and I was so excited to do their mini-shoot on the lovely front porch with the lovely stairs and columns. And their super cool attitudes and beautiful smiles. 
What do you wear for your family pictures? I think the Bollens family tackled this task very well. I love the navy blue and turquoise combo. I also really love the family dance session and the girls hanging from tree branches. Those are by far my favorite!
Oh my this little family is so adorable. I just can't get enough of this sweet babies face!
Last week we took a trip to Lincoln, New Mexico. It's a cute town that I never really knew exsisted. We relaxed, explored, and went on mini-adventures. We even saw a baby deer 10 feet from us, and elk up in the mountains (or really big hills) behind the place we were staying.Thanks to our sweet friends, the Garrett's for letting us stay at their home away from home.
The Cordel family came to me for family pictures a few weeks back and here is a little peek. I just love his sweet cheeks, and the love that pours out from his mommy and daddy for him. Simply adorable.
