Where O Where...

Do we get our inspiration from? Here are my inspiration ideas I used on this particular image for Gab's senior session. Inspiration for this image: -Gab was first of all my inspiration for this session. She is creative, therefore I wanted something very creative for her session. -magazine images of models jumping -JCrew -Anthropologie (that is my new fun circle rug from anthro) -newspaper idea came from a fun backdrop I found from an editorial photographer, then we added our own flare with the pattern paper which was designed by Gab. -I wanted something care free, so we used the pom poms to add a soft touch.

Julia.Senior

Back in November I did Julia's senior pictures. She has grown up around horses since she was two years old, so it was a must that we include them in her senior session. She is one of those all around girls. She's feminine, yet sporty, and isn't afraid of getting dirty, and she rides horses AND dirt bikes. She does a little bit of everything and looks beautiful while doing so. Oh, and please don't hate me Julia for this first one. You look so cute, I just had to include it :)

Gab, the Artist. New Mexico Photographer

Yesterday was the day of a session I've been waiting for ever since we scheduled it back in the Fall. I knew doing a session for Gab ment I needed to get really really creative. Between the two of us, we planned out an idea that totally rocked my world and lit a fire under my creative booty. These are from my fujifilm instax camera and I'm uploading the digital images now so I'll show those later this week.Happy Sunday!

Powdered Donuts and Benson

Last night Ben gave Benson a powdered donut and the boy loved it. We didn't know how much until bath time. Ben was singing, and Benson was non-stop dancing for about 10 minutes. Taking breaks in between to shovel water through his legs while standing, and then to hold on the the bar in the tub to do a stomp dance. It was some of the best entrainment I've ever witnessed. Crying to the point of tears and I even got it on video. Can't show it to the public though because it contains a little nudity :) And then today, he put on his helmet, and instantly wanted to ride is tricycle. I love that he pairs the two together. That little brain of his is ticking away with smartness. instax-scans

Looking back on 2009

I started looking back on all of my 2009 weddings and sessions and I just want to say a HUGE thank you to all of my clients and friends who supported me in 2009. I've grabbed some 30 plus favorites, but I want you to know that I have 100s. I would list all of them, but the dishes in the sink are calling my name and they HAVE to get done :)Enjoy some of my favorites from 2009 and again, thank you all so much for a blessed year.

You can also see some of my most favorites in the flash header at the top of my blog! And feel free to take a look through my archives of 2009.

Whitley.Senior.New Mexico Photographer

Whitley came in from Artesia, NM for her senior session. She is a gifted girl who loves the arts. She loves doing graphic design stuff as well as photography. She has learned so much in her photography class already about photoshop, and just recently learned about animation. How fun! Her mom came to the session with her and she was so much help with the "popper" (reflector). It made such a difference. Thanks!I was very excited about Whitley's outfits when she emailed them to me a couple of nights before. I want her boots! I'm so thankful for the senior sessions because they give me ideas for my own outfits because I don't know what is cool anymore. Take a look and see what I'm talking about.

H.S Senior Season.New Mexico and Texas Photographer

***This is the last day to enter to win a free high school senior session!! Giving away a free session...read below!

The high school senior season is starting up. It is one of my most favorite sessions and I'm so looking forward to it. I look at senior sessions as a way to really get creative and be daring. I look for ideas in fashion magazines like Vogue, InStyle and Teen Vogue. I also get ideas from Anthropologie and JCrew catalogs.

I research through magazines for all of my sessions and weddings, and this is typically what I'm looking for:

Outfits/accessories

lighting

location

setting/scenery

poses

props

So, my whole point in telling you all of this is because...I want to give a regular senior session away for FREE.  Let me say it again.  I AM GIVING AWAY A REGULAR SENIOR SESSION FOR  FREE.

Here's what you have to do.  You can nominate yourself or someone.  Send me an email to cristy@cristycross.com telling me why you or someone you know deserves the session for free.   Thats all.  It's as simple as that.  The person has to be a 2010 senior in high school and does not have to live in Clovis. I have clients from New Mexico, Kansas, Dallas, Austin, Nebraska, California, Arkansas, and New York.  So it doesn't matter where you live :)

I will take emails all the way through the end of September and will announce the winner October 15th.

I really really want to give a senior a free session so please don't hesitate to nominate yourself.  If your not a senior, nominate someone you know that you think deserves it.

(This does not apply to those who have already paid for a senior session)
