Product Spotlight: Portrait LookBook

Every year I drive out to the Schaap families house near their dairy and shoot a family session. Every year I am blessed by their generosity, kindness and sincere friendship. One of the coolest parts of my job is watching families grow up. Watching their kids go from a little six month old baby to a nine year old. My job as a portrait photographer is to document these growing families and then give them a product to help store these memories. One of those products is a lookbook. It is a hand-crafted 8.5x11 coffee table book with 30 pages and various linen cover color options. I design each lookbook to fit each session. I photograph these family sessions in various angles and groupings with the idea that a lookbook would be a final product. My most favorite pose are close-up connections bewtween the family. For example, mom hugging on her daughter while walking down the dairy road, or big brother putting his arm around his little sister. Sweet moments.Here is a peek into the Schaap families lookbook.

Day 5 Giveaway

I am humbled and I am blessed to have my business for 10 years.  Relationships have started and friendships have blossomed from this business.  I can remember my first several clients and I thank them for being my guinea pigs in the early stages.

Today is the last, and final day of giveaways. Wahhhh.  One- I wish I could do this all the time, and two-can I be qualified for these prizes, because I want one of each!  I can't thank you enough for being apart of this fun week with me.  I've really enjoyed giving them out.  The most fun response from every single person that has one is "I can't believe I won.  I never win anything!"  So, I am happy to be giving out prizes to people eager and delightful people.

The first giveaway is from Allure Salon.  The owner, Julia, has been a devoted client of mine from almost the beginning of my business and I have enjoyed having her do my hair.  I mean, I started going to her when it was just in her house, and we would rinse my hair in her kitchen sink.  Fun times.  Now she has a beautiful and inviting salon where you can come and relax, feel pampered and glamorous.  She is giving away Aveda shampoo, conditioner, hand relief moisturizer, color gloss, and a $20 gift certificate.

The second giveaway is a combo and I'm super excited about it.  It includes a portrait session from me, yes.  I said it.  The final giveaway is a PORTRAIT SESSION!  Yay!! Who is excited?  But even more exciting, the portrait session includes a one hour makeup application from the creative makeup artist Kristie Wilson.

So basically you (momma) get pampered and beautiful before your session with me.  Holla!  Who doesn't love that idea?

Bootcamp with Elevated Fitness was good today.  And you know what?  It always is :)  Monday, Wednesday and Friday I get excited to workout at Elevated Fitness-High Plains Bootcamp.  Our instructor, Meryl (below) challenges us each day.  Every workout is different and I love the mix of  strength and conditioning we do.  No workout is the same, so it keeps you wanting more.   Our workout family encourages and cheers on each other-always.  I love that about our group.

(green and gold plus signs, or navy with arrows) I'm picturing it now.  And it can work with a boy or girl.  So cute.

When I walk into my home office, one of the things that puts a smile on my face are all of my succulent plants. There's just something about a plant that makes me happy. The Cincis's Clovis, NM Family Session

Ya'll. Have you ever witnessed two new parents love their child so much it just melts your heart? I observed this today between these parents and their sweet 14 month old little boy.They were kind of adorable. And this momma (me) has two boys with absolute straight hair, so I kind of went gah-gah over his little wringlet. I mean. Come on. Not to mention, I have a soft heart for the mom and son relationship and I just want to photograph every little detail between the two.

I also really love taking Iwona's classes.  I usually go to the heated yoga class.  It allows your body to be warmer, and stretch further.  She has a dynamic and playful personality as well.  So it is just an all around awesome experience.

Jacee and Jase's Union Station Downtown Denver Engagement Session

I just happened to be in Colorado last week and so did Jacee and Jase. So we diecided to make an engagement session happen in downtown Denver at Union Station.It was pretty much awesome. And doesn't Jacee have the most beautiful smile? I am excited to be shooting their wedding in 2017. Yay!!

My Birthday Week!

My birthday is this Sunday, and I love celebrating birthdays and getting gifts (haha) and giving gifts too. Oh and eating cake. Pray for Emery

Hey there. I just want to take a second to ask if you would pray for Emery. She is having surgery tomorrow morning and her parents, friends, family and Emery herself need some encouragement. And please pray for complete healing. Here are some verses to get you started. Psalm 91:4-5 "God will cover me with his wings; I will be safe in his care; his faithfulness will protect and defend me. I need not fear any dangers or sudden attack during the day."

2 Timothy 1:7 " God has not given me a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind."

Psalm 139:13 "You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body and knit me together in my mother's womb."

Job 5:9 "He performs wonders that cannot be fathomed, miracles that cannot be counted."

Our God is so big. So strong, and so mighty. There is nothing my God cannot do.

LT's Ft. Sumner High School Track Session

So LT booked three separate sessions. One for the Fall, one for Winter, and one for Spring. I have enjoyed every single session with LT. We have created some awesome shots together.
